Dr. Ismail Sebetan

He is currently a Professor and The Academic Director of the Forensic Sciences Program at National University, La Jolla, California. He holds MD degree from Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria, Egypt and a PhD degree from Tohoku University School of Medicine, Sendai, Japan. Research interests include Forensic Medicine/pathology, Forensic Serology & DNA, Forensic Anthropology and Forensic Toxicology. His research activities include 206 peer reviewed scientific publications and presentations which are cited in all major forensic, genetics and pathology journals and textbooks. Extensive experience in forensic Sciences for more than 40 years teaching, practice, research. He also has administrative experiences during his long forensic work career including his experience as former chair of department of Forensic Medicine and the current position with National University as the Academic Director of Forensic Sciences program since 1999. He has received Distinguished Teaching Award, National University, 2005 and Distinguished Scholarship Award, National University, 2011. Editorial Board of four (4) international prestigious journals (Journal of Forensic Medicine, Toxicology & Forensic Medicine Journal, Journal of Forensic Sciences & Criminal Investigations, and International Journal of Criminal and Forensic Science).
