Recipients of the scholarship will receive $5,000 toward tuition fees for associate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs at NU. This can also be combined with NU’s military spouse tuition rate (terms and conditions apply).

Military Spouse-Friendly University
As a military spouse or dependent, we know life is busy. That’s why we offer a variety of financial and support services, including our military spouse-friendly Veteran Center which provides guidance to help ease the transition from military to civilian life.
Military Spouses Benefits
The GI Bill pays 100% of tuition and fees for eligible military spouses and dependents, up to the maximum in-state tuition for public schools, and up to $22,805.34 per academic year for private or foreign schools. But first, you must have benefits transferred from the servicemember to their spouse. This process is not difficult; if you have questions, contact our Veteran’s Affairs Office at (858) 541-7970 or veteransaffairs@nu.edu.
Post 9/11 GI Bill®
The Post 9/11 GI Bill® survivors and dependents benefit is also known as Chapter 35 benefits. You may qualify for the Post 9/11 GI Bill® survivors and dependents benefit, (also known as Chapter 35 benefits) if you are a dependent spouse, child, surviving spouse, or child of a U.S. military veteran. There are two main GI Bill benefit programs you can apply for under Chapter 35. To learn more about Chapter 35 education benefits, click here.
