Leo Damiron
Manager, Military & Veteran Strategic Partnerships
Leo Damiron first developed his passion for serving the military community after enlisting for eight honorable years in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2007 to 2015. An Aviation Supply Specialist by trade, he decided a change in career path was in order. After briefly exploring the world of mortgage loan origination with USAA, Leo sought greater opportunities for career development with the Mosaic Company. He began as a Sales Service Representative within the organization’s customer service department. There, Leo quickly earned a reputation for provision of excellent customer service as evidenced by his management of two of the company’s three largest strategic customers. He was promoted to Supervisor of the Distribution Services team, which he led for one year while also earning his BA in Creative Writing and English from Southern New Hampshire University before receiving another promotion returning him to the customer service team; this time as its lead. In this role, he helped usher in an all-new ERP platform in Salesforce while simultaneously leading the team remotely as a direct result of COVID-19.
To provide better leadership for his family of six, including his wife, Erika, and their four children, Leo once again changed career paths to focus on their needs while simultaneously aiming to meet those of his local community. In assuming the role of Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER), Leo reignited his passion for helping veterans. In his role, he assisted veterans in critical need of finding employment by engaging employers, community partners, and governing bodies in the greater Tampa Bay area, advocating on behalf of their hiring. By maximizing outreach, he has developed an extensive network of military-friendly employers and resources, which he will leverage into long-lasting partnerships resulting in customizable and holistic education solutions for National University students from the point of enrollment through successful employment and retention.
