Overview
National University’s Master of Science in Forensic Psychology program is designed to give you knowledge and understanding of human behavior in forensic psychology by examining policy and justice, victims and offenders, diversity and ethics, risk and threat assessment and management, theories of criminal behavior, and the evaluation and treatment in offender populations. There are two specializations you may select from: General Forensic Psychology or Threat Assessment and Management.
Students in the General Forensic Psychology specialization are able to choose a non-clinical internship course/project or a research-driven capstone course/project. Alternatively, in the Threat Assessment and Management specialization, students will learn the essential elements of risk and threat assessment and management, including elements related to applied profiling, the use of assessment tools, interviewing and information gathering, risk factors and mitigation strategies, and team processes for different types of risk and threat, including violence, stalking, sexual dangerousness, workplace and school violence, or other areas of targeted violence.
